Custom GT :: 1993 PROBE GT
HISTORY OF CAR: I bought this car at an auction in Cole Camp, Missouri for $1600 in May 2001. The owner of the car said all that was wrong with it was the CV Joints, and of course the damaged windshield. Once we inspected it at home, we found out it needed rear brakes, a water pump, and.....A TRANSMISSION.
CURRENT MODIFICATIONS :: I have taken out the power antenna which was broke and replaced it with a fubu antenna ($10). I made custom tail lights. I have also painted miscellaneous things inside the car white. I painted the wheels white than sprayed clear coat over them. I then put some red RACING decals ($10) on the wheels. I have taken off the dealer sticker off the back. I bought an erebuni shogun nose for ($300). I had to do a lot of work to the shogun nose, sanding and lots of bondo ($5). BTW I had to take off the front crash bar because shogun nose will not go on with it on. So had to make a new one out of tubular steel :) I bought a wiring harness for the cd player, at a high price of ($25).I got the right rear tire patched ($6) Bought a new battery ($30) and new battery terminals ($4) that are green and red and black. Replaced alternator belt, and power steering belt ($15). Replaced CV joints, water pump, and transmission filter ($75). Bought a drivers side door cap ($35) Put in Pioneer 8200 CD player ($320) Got fog lights from my brother in law ($65). I did the fog light mod. Well my car caught on fire :) Actually it was the power steering hose, it had a pinhole in it and got on the engine block and caught on fire. I was right at my house so I pulled in and we sprayed it down. It didn't hurt anything besides the hose, so I will get it ordered ASAP. Did the 3rd brake light mod. I put GT in it. One bulb in the 3rd brake light was bad so I put new ones in ($3) Finally mounted my switches onto the center console. Also took out the equalizer instead of the doing the graphics analyzer mod because I couldn't figure out how. I then put a piece of plexiglass there, with a Racing decal on it. Then I put a piece of paper behind it. I did the sleepy eye mod, it works well. Then put the center console back together. Looks very good  Got the power steering hose ($60). The end of it was twisted 90 degrees the wrong way, so we had to cut it off and solder it back on right. Took the car for a drive and the transmission is still acting weird, and something is still smoking. We think it's the power steering fluid on the block. I put wire loom around the rca's and remote turn-on. Broke the door cap I bought while trying to take it off. Replaced 15W taillight fuse because dad broke all the turn signals and it blew the fuse. Just bought a transmission for transmission pump and torque converter .It was the wrong transmission. So, we decided to go ahead and do a 5 speed swap. I had to get a new drivers side half shaft for the 5 speed ($65) I found a Sensei Series 1 Camaro SS hood from Probe EM for ($475 shipped) Had to buy a container of brake fluid for the new clutch reservoir ($1) Also had to buy a clutch alignment tool ($3) Well, bought a passenger side half shaft instead of intermediate shaft...O’reillys screwed up...Bought 2 more cans of break fluid ($2) Bought used passenger side intermediate shaft ($78) Started car up today and I drove it!
